SPECIAL PROJECTS

The Westlake Academy Foundation (WAF) provides administrative and operational support for select special projects and events in coordination with Westlake Academy leadership. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Foundation ensures appropriate financial oversight, tax-deductible giving, and detailed gift tracking and donor reporting for these initiatives.

When requested by Academy administration, WAF manages the necessary back-office infrastructure—handling contributions, ensuring compliance, and maintaining transparency throughout the process.

This support structure allows projects to be executed efficiently, with accountability and alignment to the Academy’s broader goals.

9/11 Run to Remember

The inaugural 9/11 Run to Remember, held in 2025, brought together neighbors, first responders, and community members from across Westlake in a powerful tribute to the courage and sacrifice shown on September 11, 2001.

Hosted by the Town of Westlake and the Westlake Fire Department, this meaningful event honors the legacy of the 343 firefighters who gave their lives in service that day. Proceeds from this annual run support the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, benefiting the families of those fallen heroes. Thanks to the generosity and unity of our community, the first year’s event raised over $1,400.
