Margo Ibrahim joined Westlake Academy as an MYP/DP French teacher in 2017. This year is her fourth year to teach French in the United States.
Her educational background and her professional career have allowed her to develop a special passion for French language. She graduated from a French Catholic school (Institution Sainte Jeanne- Antide) before going on to pursue a bachelor’s degree in French language and literature from Alexandria University in Egypt.
Throughout her career, her work has always revolved around languages, books and teaching. She started out as a librarian in the Alliance Française. In addition, she tutored French university students and was involved in the translation of La main à la pâte website, launched upon the initiative of Georges Charpak (Nobel Prize in Physics) with the primary goal to develop inquiry-based science education in schools. This experience taught her much about the importance of engaging students in the learning process.
She truly believes that learning foreign language opens many doors and provides vast opportunities and she enjoys sharing this belief with our students. In her spare time, Mrs. Ibrahim enjoys cooking (and eating!) mediterranean food.
