Margo Ibrahim is excited to join Westlake Academy as MYP/DP French teacher. This year is her third year to teach French in USA.
Her educational background and her professional career have allowed her to develop a special passion for French language. She graduated from a French Catholic school (Institution Sainte Jeanne- Antide) before going on to pursue a bachelor’s degree in French language and literature with 126 credit hours (Alexandria University, Egypt).
Throughout her career, her work has always revolved around languages, books and teaching. She started out as a librarian in the Alliance Française. Also, she had the chance to tutor French for university students and to be involved in the translation of La main à la pâte website, launched upon the initiative of Georges Charpak (Nobel Prize in Physics) with the primary goal to develop inquiry-based science education in schools. This experience taught her much about the importance of engaging students in the learning process.
She truly believes that learning foreign language opens many doors and provides opportunities that we could never have imagined, and she would love the opportunity to share this belief with our students.
