Amber Bernard joined Westlake Academy in 2015. Mrs. Bernard graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and this will be her 10th year as a classroom teacher. She is certified to teach Early Childhood-8th grade, ESL, Special Education, as well as Gifted and Talented. She has taught first, second, third, and fourth grade. She is a professional member of the Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented, a NASA Citizen Scientist, and she absolutely loves teaching the Junior Scientists after school program!
Mrs. Bernard finds great joy in learning and developing the unique gifts of each individual student. She is passionate about the IB mission to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world. Mrs. Bernard is married to her high school sweetheart, Wes, and they have three daughters, Brenna, Lexie, and Bailey. She loves spending time with her family and cheering for the Texas Longhorns!
