Amy Hess is excited to begin her first year at Westlake Academy and her fifteenth year in education. Amy is originally from Nebraska, where she graduated with honors from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Elementary Education. Upon moving to Texas, Amy taught 3rd grade in Garland ISD, at The Episcopal School of Dallas, and at The Hockaday School. For the past ten years, Amy has served as a Reading Specialist and a Language Arts teacher to sixth, seventh and eighth grade students in Grapevine/Colleyville ISD. She is looking forward to being at Westlake Academy where she hopes to help students develop a lifelong love of reading and writing and an appreciation for the world around them. When not teaching, Amy enjoys being at home with her husband, Jim, and their two children, Allie and Cooper.
