Due to several factors including the increased number of athletes that wish to participate in the sports program, facility space, availability of appropriate competition and a full coaching staff, it has become necessary to hold tryouts for all teams. These tryouts are conducted by the coaching staff of that sport. Final rosters are at the discretion of the coaching staff. Team members must meet all team requirements and expectations. Every effort will be made to accommodate any interested student however at all levels there will be those that do not make the team.
Varsity Team (accommodates grades 9-12)
Varsity teams will compete for TCAF State Championships within the boundaries of the rules and excellent sportsmanship. Playing time at the varsity level is solely at the discretion of the coaching staff. Thus, there is no guarantee of playing time at the varsity level.
Junior Varsity (JV) Team (accommodates grades 9-11)
The JV team also competes in TCAF. The primary objective is to continue the overall development of the players in preparation for future contributions to the varsity team. All players will have the opportunity to experience playing time over the course of the season but not necessarily equally.
Junior High Teams
It is the objective of the athletic department to host two teams at the junior high level for volleyball and basketball. However this is subject to the availability of coaches, facilities and teams to compete against.
White Team Philosophy (accommodates grades 6-8)
The White team competes for district and regional titles in CSAF. The White team will stress individual fundamental and begin to introduce more advanced team concepts All players will receive playing time in each contest and over the course of the season but not necessarily equally. Development and participation will continue to be stressed but team competitiveness will begin to play a larger role at this level
Navy Team Philosophy (accommodates grades 6-8)
The Navy Team will serve as a developmental team with instruction based on individual fundamentals, team concepts and some district competition. All players will receive playing time in each contest and over the course of the season but not necessarily equally. Development, participation, and competitiveness will be stressed at this level.
