Jessica Waldrop joins us this year as our PYP Dyslexia Therapist. Mrs. Waldrop has been teaching for 11 years and has taught grade 1 and grade 3 in addition to serving as an interventionist working with dyslexic, ESL and RTI students. She has spent the past 2 years as a Dyslexia Therapist in training through Scottish Rite Hospital and recently graduated with her Dyslexia Therapist certification.
Mrs. Waldrop has two children - Lincoln, a new PYP student at Westlake Academy and Kennedy, age 3. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with her family camping, swimming, reading and watching movies. When asked what she is most excited about with her new position, she said, "I am very excited to join an elite group of educators that are committed to doing what’s in the best interest of students. After dedicating the last two years to become a Dyslexia Therapist, I am also thrilled to be utilizing the Take Flight Program from Scottish Rite Hospital, so that I can provide the tools Dyslexic students need in order to become successful readers." Welcome Mrs. Waldrop!
