Starting Westlake Academy

New to Westlake Academy?

Here's a helpful list to get you started!

Welcome to the Westlake Academy! We have designed this page to help new families navigate those first few weeks at a new school. Below you find information and links to take you to all the places you need to go to get your students ready for the first day of school.  As always, if you need additional assistance, please feel free to call us at 817-490-5757.

Communiqué - our Parent Newsletter

Every Friday afternoon, you will receive the communiqué. It is a great source of information for what is happening on campus. It will also provide up to the minute information on upcoming events and important dates. All the issues are archived here for your reference.

Medical Requirements

Do you have a student entering Grade 7?

Grade 7 students require two additional immunizations – Tdap booster and Menincoccal. There are two ways that we can access this information: if your Doctor utilizes the Immtrac2 system (the official Texas Immunization Registry) we can access your student’s records once they are loaded by your Physician. Another option is to bring a printed copy of your student’s records to the school during registration. Proof of immunization is required prior to the first day of school.

Will your student need to take medication while at school?

If your student will need to take medication at school, you may bring it to the Nurse's Office along with the 2019-2020 Medication Administration Request.

Volunteering

Do you think you may want to volunteer at Westlake Academy? Go on a field trip? If you think you might, please click here to complete the mandatory background check. This is a requirement of all volunteers and must be completed once per year. Doing it now will ensure that you will have the clearance you need right when you need it!

Athletic forms/physicals

All athletes are required to have a sports physical each year.

Interested in Winter Sports? Contact Athletic Director Alan Burt for more information.

Help! There are so many acronyms to remember:

HOC – House of Commons (like the old fashioned PTA) this is our version of the Parent/Teacher organization. Click here to learn more about this great group and how you can become involved!

WAF – Westlake Academy Foundation.
