Counselors are available to students to offer support and guidance throughout their journey at Westlake Academy.

The counselors provide personal counseling to individuals, serves as a resource for social and emotional concerns, conducts classes and/or small groups, provides parent education, and makes referrals to off-campus professionals and agencies.

The goal of the  Counseling Department is to support the academic and social-emotional needs of ALL secondary Westlake Academy students. Our developmental and preventative guidance and counseling program are designed to provide individual support, classroom guidance, and facilitate small groups.  We will be present and available for students in times of adversity and also in times of celebration.  We will meet individually with students facing academic or social-emotional challenges, and use solution-based strategies to help them gain tools to approach adversities with confidence. We provide interactive and relevant guidance lessons for your students, so we can together approach topics like time management, stress management, mindfulness and many other life skills.

Small Group services are designed for students who share common experiences, providing guided peer support and growth.  We collaborate with parents/guardians, teachers, staff, administration, and the greater community to create an environment that helps increase the effectiveness of each student’s success.

Any student can request to meet with us, or they can be referred by a teacher, administrator, or parent.  We encourage you to reach out if you have concerns regarding your student.  We are here to help your students identify and achieve their personal, social and academic goals.
