Town Council / Board of Trustees

The Town Council serves as the governing body of the Town of Westlake and as the School Board of  Westlake Academy.  The Town Council/Board of Trustees is responsible for all matters that the TEA Code requires to be administered by any school board.

As it relates to Westlake Academy, the Board of Trustees approves the academic budget, sets school policies, and is accountable for the academic success of the students.  The Academy’s  governance structure is unlike any public charter school in Texas as we are the only charter school in the state to be managed and operated by a municipality.

The Town Council / Board of Trustees convene joint regular meetings on the third Tuesday of each month. The Town Council meets at 4 p.m. with the Board of Trustees meeting no earlier than 5pm. The approved meeting calendar can be found by following this link.  All meetings are held at Westlake Town Hall, 1500 Solana Blvd., Building 7, Suite 7100, on the first floor in the Council Chambers.  Meeting agendas are posted a minimum of 3 business days prior to the meeting and are available by following this link.  Special called meetings and workshops can be held as necessary, and notice will be posted accordingly.

The Council holds its regular meetings on the third Tuesday of each month, beginning at 4p.m. All meetings are held at Westlake Town Hall, 1500 Solana Blvd., Building 7, on the first floor in the Municipal Chambers.
