Updated School Uniform Information 7/30/2008
As most of you know we have been working out some final kinks with our new uniform provider, French Toast. The problem with the embroidery on the shirts has been corrected, so please feel free to go ahead and order your school clothes. French Toast line is carried at the Levines store at 1625 N. Story Road, Suite 174, Irving Texas 75061. Please remember that the embroidered shirts must be purchased through the website. Regarding the PE uniform. Students will be required to wear mesh, navy shorts that are no shorter than 3 inches above the knee and any light colored t-shirt with minimal writing on it. Any printing on the shirts must be non-controversial and appropriate for a school setting.

Westlake TEA Rating 'Exemplary'
Westlake Academy is delighted to report that it received a TEA rating of 'Exemplary' for its scores in the 2007-2008 TAKS tests. The Academy is especially pleased as it does not teach specifically to the tests, due to our belief in the IB programmes which the school was founded on. However, we are also conscious and proud of our place in Texas, so to be recognised as an Exemplary school is one that I hope everyone in the Westlake community can take pride in. -Mark Rosevear- Head of School.

Westlake Academy granted IB Diploma authorization!
The Academy becomes the first school in Texas with all three programs and the fifth school in the USA to achieve such an honor. Congratulations to David Jenkins, Head of Secondary, and his team, and to the students for their dedication.
