Primary Principal Welcome
The Primary School at Westlake Academy encompasses Kindergarten to Grade 6, and is authorized by the International Baccalaureate (IB) to implement the Primary Years Program (PYP). The PYP is a concept, inquiry based curriculum that fosters the affective, as well as the cognitive domain. We educate students in a holistic fashion, which promotes the development of internationally-minded students that display traits such as being a risk taker, being open-minded, knowledgeable, principled, caring and well-balanced. We are committed to delivering learning programs and experiences that meet the academic, social, physical and psychological needs of our students and that cultivate success and life long learning for the future.
The strength of our school lies in the close partnership between students, staff and parents and the wider community, which is highly valued by us all. We believe that students have a fundamental right to learn in a safe, supportive environment and to be treated with respect. We also value diversity and operate an inclusive learning environment for all students.
Westlake Academy Primary School has a dedicated and professional team of teaching and non-teaching staff who offer a balance of youth and experience. The school buildings and grounds offer a unique design and setting with excellent internal and external facilities for all students and staff to enjoy.
