After one year of hard work and collaboration among PYP, MYP and DP teachers, Westlake Academy developed a whole school Language Policy that is now used as a model for schools all over the world.
The document "Guidelines for developing a school language policy", published on the OCC (a password-protected IB website designed to support teachers of the three IB programmes from all over the world), now includes Westlake Academy's Language Policy. Our school's Language Policy has been chosen because we developed a whole-school policy, including philosophy statements and/or practices, to address the teaching and learning of language in our school across the three programmes, PYP, MYP and DP.
